Hey everybody its been awhile since KCSU Sports had fired up the ol’ blogger but here we go.

Gartrell Johnson was named the Top Performer of the 2008-2009 Bowl season according to College Football News. Gartrell compiled 375 total yards in offense against Fresno State in the New Mexico Bowl back on Dec. 20th. He averaged 10.7 yards per rush finishing with 285 rushing yards and 90 recieving yards. Gartrell beat out other standouts such as Texas QB Colt McCoy and USC QB Mark Sanchez.

College Football news also ranked this years New Mexico as the 15th best bowl game of the bowl season. Not to bad for a game played on the first day of the College Football Bowl Season.
